The Sioux, also known as the Plains people, were a very unique group of people. The Sioux people lived in today's Wisconsin, Minnesota, and North/South Dakota. The Plains people spoke in three main languages; the Santee (Eastern Sioux) spoke in Dakota, the Yankton spoke in Nakota, and the Teton (Western Sioux) spoke in Lakota. The Sioux were also a group of nomadic people, which meant they would travel from place to place according to the migration of the buffalo (for their daily life was heavily based on buffalo). The people of the Great Sioux Nation lived an interesting yet complex life.
